Experience report SX20 -Yachtline-: Lake Thun

How we got our boat

We are Adrian and Diana R. from Grindelwald in Switzerland. We had wanted a boat for a long time, but it was a little difficult in Switzerland (lack of boat moorings). But through connections and a bit of luck, we did find one.

So now came the second difficulty: where to buy a boat? By chance we came across the website of the Öchsner company in Germany. After various telephone conversations and e-mail correspondence, we decided to buy the SX20 -Yachtline- on 24.11.2021 – unseen (Corona). The help from Öchsner was great, to put it precisely: very competent. The briefing in Kürnach on 22.04.2022 and the first live sighting of our boat was bombastic. Yes, it is possible to buy a boat sight unseen. The Öchsner company helped us to apply for the correct customs documents. She organized our transport from Germany to Switzerland. Everything went so smoothly that we were able to take delivery of our boat in Thun on May 2, 2022.

First season with our SX20 -Yachtline- with the name Calypso

We have a drying area and so we are always allowed to transport our boat into the water with a crane. Despite the length and weight, it’s fantastic. We were able to experience a lot in the first season with Calypso. Water skiing and wakeboarding no problem.
The storage space offered by the Yachtline is great for all-round comfort. Not to forget: the fridge is a must in summer for cool drinks and a snack. We have stayed at the Yachtline with our dogs from time to time. Enjoying a vacation so close on the Yachtline is pure relaxation.

Conclusion

The handling of the Yachtline is very, very good in waves and when maneuvering. The small turning circle is impressive, there are no difficulties even at the smallest moorings, simply fascinating. We are glad that we chose the Yachtline from Öchsner.

The Öchsner company is highly recommended, all competent and friendly employees.
