Handover in Kürnach
On Wednesday, 26.07.2023, the time had finally come for us to take delivery of our first own Öchsner SX20 -Yachtline- in Kürnach. As always, the Öchsner team gave us a very warm welcome. Sven Küffner discussed the theoretical part of the boat with us and handed over the prepared papers. During the theoretical briefing on our new boat, we could see out of the window that our Sir Grisu was being driven up. The focus was then no longer necessarily on the papers and Sven. After the first inspection, we were even more certain that we had made the right decision. Sven Küffner set up the Garmin app for us and we set off together with Florian Öchsner towards the slipway.
The practical part began with a briefing on how to handle the trailer and how to prepare it and the boat for launching. While we took our seats on the boat, Florian Öchsner took the boat into the water of the Main together with us and we sailed on it. Florian Öchsner took a lot of time to answer all our questions. We had a really great and detailed briefing, as Florian Öchsner is very patient and only let us go once all the points had been discussed and, above all, understood. The three of us (2 adults, 1 child) then spent the weekend on the boat and set it up so that we could say it was ours.
Vacation on the Meuse
From the end of August, we were out and about in the Meuse region. In the almost 70 operating hours and many more hours without the engine running that we have spent on our boat since then, we can still say that we are totally satisfied. We were able to spend many wonderful excursions, overnight stays and afternoons including swimming on the boat. Unfortunately, our first season has now been over since mid-October. We are already looking forward to the coming year 2024, when we can start the next full season with our Sir Grisu. As a picture is worth a thousand words, we have of course included a few in our article.
Briefly about the equipment:
We are happy to have opted for all the equipment packages, as well as the electric anchor winch. The camper top fits perfectly. The sunshade does what it should and the glass display with all the electronic fuses and switches gives the entire cockpit a tidy appearance.
Finally, we would like to thank the entire team once again for the exclusively positive contact so far.
See you soon, Daniels family
