Experience report SR30 -Yachtline-: Mecklenburg/Havel/Müritz

The second season with our SR30 -Yachtline-

After the first season served to get to know our new yacht and was largely spent in our home waters on the Rhine, in her second year she should finally show that she is also capable of traveling long distances without any problems and makes chartering a houseboat at the vacation destination superfluous.

In the first pandemic season, traveling abroad was hardly an option and so the choice fell on Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, starting in Fürstenberg. Together with another family who don’t own their own yacht and have rented a houseboat for their 4 people, this was the ideal combination: our own SR30 -Yachtline-, which we were already very familiar with and which therefore served mainly as a fun boat for the children during the day, with water skis, banana and “sofa”, or with the SUP, which can be converted into a surfboard. And the neighbors’ large houseboat for cooking and eating together for all eight people.

And so, once again, this week went by faster than expected – it could easily have been two or three. The transport with the trailer, the maneuvers with the trailer on site and all the maneuvering went as usual without any problems thanks to the great position of the SR30 -Yachtline- in the water and during transport.

The area may seem overcrowded to some people, but we enjoyed the hustle and bustle and the fact that we were constantly in contact with fellow competitors in other boats. Especially the waiting times at the locks were easy to bridge.

And there is certainly no such thing as boredom in this area. There are snack stands and ice cream kiosks on the water, and every few kilometers there is a water ski course where children and adults can let off steam with all kinds of equipment.

Even after this vacation, we are still convinced that the best vacations are always those spent on the water, and the SR30 -Yachtline- once again proved that it is the ideal companion for enjoying as much of it as possible throughout the year.
