In May 2023, the time had finally come. We took over our SRX30 -Yachtline- in May 23 in Kürnach and spent the day on the Main together with Mr. Öchsner a test drive incl. Slipping successfully completed. There was also a detailed explanation of the technology and various tips about the boat. At the end of the day, everything in the car and off home. Despite its 3.5 tons, the trailer with boat is pleasant to drive and runs safely and smoothly.
Whitsun vacation in Croatia
At Whitsun we went to Croatia for the first time. We took our two Labradors on vacation to our parents-in-law for the first trip. On the first trip we wanted to get to grips with ourselves and the boat and get used to everything. Compared to the chartered boats, the SRX30 is much smaller in terms of dimensions, so it’s important to organize well!
Arrived in Croatia, unpacked the SRX30, on to the crane and into the water! The first few days were of course wet and windy, so we were able to test the camper top for leaks right away.
On day 3 the weather finally improved and off we went for our first ride. Our processes improved with each passing day. It’s all just a matter of organization.
After an extended 10 days and approx. 200SM we had visited various bays, marinas etc. and thus gained a nice overview of the area. After uncraning in the home marina, we headed home – with a list of improvements for the storage spaces and the organization in our luggage, now we had 8 weeks to prepare for the summer vacation.
After some minor optimizations of the storage space, the big question for us was: how are we supposed to survive 3 weeks here with two large dogs? But never mind, you always stumble across something and someone anyway 😊
The dogs were also on board during the summer vacation
So we put the whole family in the car, packed 3 weeks’ worth of dog provisions and headed south. We chose the same marina as at Pentecost as our entry point and so we arrived in the sunny south in the rain once again. Thank goodness only one day, then we had 3 weeks of sunshine. During the first 2 weeks, on an extended tour from the Kvarner Bay to the Kornati islands and back, we found time and again that the constellation with the 3 people and 2 dogs was really problem-free and our 2 Labradors were able to make perfect use of the dog gangway we had ordered to spend a lot of time in the water. In the third week we used our marina for day trips to various bays and were glad to have air conditioning in temperatures of up to 39°.
After exactly 3 weeks, we returned home just in time for the first rainy day, but as we all know, after a vacation is before the next one 😊.
The weather was perfect and we used the last week of our vacation to spend 3 days on the Danube and try out slipping for the first time. So back on board and off to the Danube! After unpacking and setting up, it was off to the ramp and the first self-slip. After our trips on the Danube and the MDK with 3 locks, the big day came to slip out. With the crane option in mind, we then drove the trailer onto the ramp and carefully positioned the boat. Winch fixed, ramp up and lo and behold it works.
After packing and the journey home, the only thing left to do is the first service, then our SRX30 -Yachtline- can go into its well-deserved hibernation.
Best regards, the D. family 😊
