I was impressed by the boat on the trailer
60 years ago I learned to sail on the Baltic Sea and experienced the fascination of water sports. I got my sports boat license for sailing and motor boats for inland waterways and seas. Various circumstances made it impossible to stay true to the water.
So it wasn’t until 2015 that I started dealing with sports boats again – at trade fairs, in ports and on the net to find a suitable boat for us. At first we couldn’t decide on one that met our expectations.
But then everything happened quickly.
In the parking lot of a grocery store, I saw a boat on a trailer. I was impressed by the black trailer and the boat with the inscription “Yachtline” on it – I googled and quickly found ÖCHSNER BOOTE in Kürnach. I ordered the catalog and price list. It quickly became clear that the SRX30 -Yachtline- could be the right boat for us.
We agreed an appointment with the Öchsner company in Kürnach. There we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Küffner. He informed us in great detail about their products and manufacture – and seeing the boat live impressed us even more, such as the good workmanship, the spatial layout, the technology, the powerful engine and the individually possible extras.
The fact that the motor yacht of this size can still be trailered left no doubt about our decision to sign the purchase contract.
Finally the wait was over
At the end of July 2022, after about ten months, was the handover date that we had been waiting for. First of all, Mr. Küffner gave us a detailed theoretical introduction to driving and handling the boat. Then Mr. Öchsner showed us how to slip and start the boat on site on the Main. Then the boat went to the weigh-in.
At over 40 degrees we drove on the highway towards the Baltic Sea. The aluminum trailer impressed with its directional stability. Arrived in the home port and docked, the boat still had to be set up. This takes a few days. The videos provided by the Öchsner company for setting up, driving and for the IT helped us a lot.
During the first boat trips on the Baltic Sea, in not inconsiderable sea conditions, the boat drove very sportily, sleek and was easy to steer and it had good stability. Since boat trips in coastal waters place different demands on a motorboat than jaunts on rivers and lakes, stability was an important criterion for us.
Thanks to the bow and stern thrusters, the boat was easy to maneuver in the harbour. Of course, we are also pleased about the relatively low fuel consumption.
Since we will probably be in coastal waters most of the time, it was certainly a good decision for us to also take the international marine radio test, because our boat is equipped with a radio, so we use it and take part in marine and inland radio communications can.
Our first season ended very quickly. Then in september the boat was wintered after 30 driving hours. We look forward to the new season with our SRX30 -Yachtline- and use the hibernation to plan our tours.
