Field report SX20 -Yachtline-: Croatia

In our second season, we were heading to Croatia this time. We had chosen the island of Śolta as our destination. We had found a vacation home right on the water, and there should also be a mooring available. So first all the necessary boat papers were prepared and the boat was registered in Croatia.

Since Solta can only be reached by ferry and offers no possibility to crane, we decided to have our AMELIE craned on the mainland in the Marina Agana. The plan was for one of us to cover the 18nm to the vacation home by boat, while the other took the ferry to ferry the car to the island. We were able to park the trailer in the marina for 2 weeks.

It was our first trip to Croatia and the excitement was correspondingly great … but unfounded. We covered the 1060 km with an overnight stay in Rijeka. The transportation of the SX20 with the associated trailer from Öchsner worked perfectly.
We had already booked the tickets for the ferry in advance, so of course we had to keep to our schedule, which worked perfectly with a time reserve. When we arrived at Marina Agana we registered, paid the parking and crane fee and 30 minutes later our Amelie was already in the water.

We had the best weather, almost no swell and so we were able to really enjoy the stretch to the vacation home with our boat. The area there is gorgeous and the water is bright blue. In the bays you usually have to moor with anchor and shore line … so we were glad to have 2x30m mooring lines with us and enough long anchor lines. Depths of over 30m near the shore are not uncommon.
We were lucky that there was a jetty for mooring in front of the vacation home, but we still had to use a throw anchor at the stern to ensure that our boat didn’t get too close to the jetty.

We made very nice trips with our boat, unfortunately this vacation with our SX20 -Yachtline- also came to an end much too quickly. We will definitely repeat this vacation again.
