Our Dream

After driving to the Maas Lakes a few Times on Weekends, our two-week Holiday with the "Daydream" was now up.
We - this is Captain Klaus, Smutje Silvana, the two Sailors Katinka and Antonia And our Boat dog Cookie – started with our SR30 yachtline. We drove from our Home port in Roermond,
Marina Oolderhuuske off. Our first Stop was in the small Village of Hanssum. There we set up our Dinghy and pulled it onto the Bathing Platform with the electric winch.
The next Morning we made a shopping stop in Venlo and in the Evening we anchored for the first Time in dreamlike Nature on the Sea of Leukers. To go for a walk with cookie, the two sailors then drove with our dinghy to the shore. Sunday we drove a small Part over the Waal (the Rhine in Holland) to Nijmegen and stayed there in the City port.
In the evening we got a Visit from the Captain's Sister and her Husband. The two saw the Boat for the first Time and were completely thrilled. Then we spent a few nice Hours with Wine and Tapas on our "Daydream." On Monday morning, a fast-paced Voyage continued past large Container ships across the Waal Towards Utrecht. We have Breakfast in a small Charming Marina in Wijk bij Duurstede.
We continued over the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal to the City port of Utrecht. To achieve this, we quickly converted the Roof to the lowest Position, so that we could just drive through under the last fixed Bridge. In the Evening we went by Dinghy through the Canals of Utrecht for Dinner.

Amsterdam

On Tuesday morning we left the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal at Breukelen and then drove up to the Nieuwkoopse PLetons Nature reserve only through small secluded Canals. After we drove over the Waal two days earlier with more than 60 km/h, we were now only able to enjoy the Outdoors comfortably with a Top Speed of 6 km/h.
Overnight We stayed in the great Outdoors on a Meadow with many Cows just before Katwijk. Wednesday morning we strengthened after a Beach Walk in Katwijk with a large Portion of kippeling and then drove towards Amsterdam.

Across Ijsselmeer for Horseback riding

In the second largest Port in the Netherlands, we sailed past Container ships and the MSC Magnifica. After a Stroll Through the city followed our next Highlight of the Holiday. The Journey over the Ijsselmeer to Lelystad. The gruff ride we coped easily with our boat. The next Day we started after Visiting a historic Sailing ship towards Meppel, where the two Sailors Katinka and Antonia disembarked and went on a Week of Horseback riding.

Seclusion in the National Park

For us two included boat dog Cookie, it went on this sunny Saturday until just before Kampen. The next Morning we continued at an Average Speed of 40 km/h over the Ijssel, which had the lowest Water Level since Records Began in 1901. Due to dried-up Docks, we drove 150 km on that Day with a short Stopover in Arnhem back to Wijk bij Duurstede. The next Night we spent in complete Seclusion in National Park De Biesbosch. Other Stops on the Way Back to our Home Port of Oolderhuuske included Heusden and Cuijk.

600 km across the Netherlands

A wonderful Holiday with a dreamlike Boat came to an end. In total, we drove about 600 km across the Netherlands. With our Boat we were able to drive easily through both the narrowest Canals, under the lowest Bridges, over the rough Ijsselmeer as well as over the busy Waal.

We are already looking forward to our next Holiday with our SR30 yachtline.

Many Greetings Family T.
